How Kora Keeps Projects, Exports, and DAW Sessions in Sync

What Are Watch Folders in Kora?

Watch folders allow Kora to monitor specific folders on your computer—typically:

  • DAW project/session folders
  • audio export folders

When new or updated files appear, Kora evaluates their context and helps keep your workspace organized automatically.

This feature is designed to reduce manual importing, file hunting, and mental bookkeeping.

What Kora Does Automatically

When confidence is high, Kora will:

  • link new audio exports to the correct project
  • associate projects with the correct album (if it exists)
  • keep album and project views up to date
  • maintain clean, readable organization in the app—even if filenames on disk are messy

This enables a set-it-and-forget-it workflow for ongoing work.

When Kora Asks Instead (Watch Inbox)

When confidence is lower, Kora does not guess.

Instead, it sends the item to the Watch Inbox, where you can:

  • confirm a suggested project or album
  • create a new project or album
  • merge with existing work
  • correct naming or context issues

These actions are usually one click.

Kora always explains why it's asking.

How does DAW Session Linking & Launching work?

When a DAW session file is linked to a project:

  • you can launch the session directly from the Project view
  • you can configure multiple DAW applications if you work across more than one
  • Kora helps keep sessions discoverable even if folders move

This keeps you in creative flow instead of searching for files.

What is Permissions & Reliability?

Because Kora is desktop-native:

  • you explicitly grant access to watched folders
  • permissions can be re-authorized if needed
  • Kora provides diagnostics if a watch becomes unavailable

This is intentional and protects your system.

What are common questions?

Does Kora rename my files automatically? No. Kora organizes and presents files cleanly inside the app without destructively changing your filesystem.

Can I turn watch folders off? Yes. Watch folders are optional and fully configurable.
